RM100mil expected from Tropicana condo sales [ 22/3/2003 ]

TROPICANA Golf & Country Resort Bhd and LBS Bina Group Bhd are looking at sales of over RM100mil from their first phase joint-venture Casa Tropicana condominiums project in Tropicana, Petaling Jaya.

Tropicana Golf & Country group managing director P.K. Poh said the companies were expecting good sales from the joint-venture project due to the area's prestigious location, resort-like environment and good leisure facilities and amenities.

''We also feel that Casa Tropicana has a wide range of condominium designs and sizes to suit different needs,'' he told a media briefing in Petaling Jaya on Thursday.

The first phase of Casa Tropicana consists of a 24-level and a 6-level block with 333 condominium units and 24 commercial units. LBS Bina unit Inderaloka Impian Sdn Bhd is project manager for Casa Tropicana.

The units are priced from RM205,900 to RM407,900 each with floor areas ranging from 894 to 1,797 sq ft.

Among the facilities offered are covered parking bay, a swimming pool, spa pool, gymnasium, kindergarten and a tennis court.

The companies would hold a soft launch for the project on Sunday followed with an official launch on March 29.

Poh said buyers who placed their bookings early would be given a 5% rebate of up to RM20,000 and free sports and leisure membership worth RM22,800 at Tropicana Golf & Country.

''Another selling point is that the project is in a neighbourhood which has seen a four-fold land appreciation over the past 10 years,'' he said.

LBS Bina managing director Datuk Lim Hock San said the project was expected to be completed in 36 months and that the majority of consumers were looking at buying houses from reputable developers with good track record.

''Both LBS and Tropicana's parent company Dijaya Corp Bhd have proven track records of delivering and completing their projects ahead of schedule,'' he said.
