New Gamuda home scheme to hit RM150m sales [ 28/4/2003 ]

GAMUDA Land, the developer of Bandar Botanic, an integrated township 6km outside Klang, Selangor, expects to hit RM150mil in sales with its BBHOMES scheme.

Launched since the beginning of the month, Part One of the scheme has already achieved sales of RM40mil. Part Two begins next month and will end in June.

''There are five main schemes in the first package which are very attractive to home buyers as it not only affords them protection from losses in these uncertain times but helps them gain in some ways,'' Gamuda Land senior manager Leslie Quah (pic) told StarBiz.

The package of- fers potential buyers five main schemes with the following features: no interest need be paid on the housing loan during the construction period; earnings of 6% on the deposit paid to the developer; the developer undertakes to repay loan in case the buyer gets retrenched in the 12 months following vacant possession; the defect liability is extended from the normal 18 to 24 months. There is also an extended warranty for three years on paint, waterproofing and termite treatment.

''What makes the package attractive is that there are no holding costs during the construction period which can work out to as much as 10% to 15% of the purchase price paid,'' he said.

The BBHOMES package will run until the end of April after which a modified version of the package will replace the original and which will not include, firstly, the 6% return, only 5%, on the deposit paid, and secondly, the retrenchment benefits.

Developed by wholly-owned subsidiary Harum Intisari Sdn Bhd, the RM3bil (sales) integrated development is a low density, modern township of over 1,200 acres.
